Iranian (Farsi) Card Games
Card games are fairly popular in Iran mostly for entertainment and fun rather than gambling.
The most popular Iranian card games are:
Hokm
Hokm is very similar to the game "Spades".
The main differences between Hokm and spade are:
- In Hokm the player to the left of the dealer chooses the trump's suit. In other words trump is not always Spdes.
- In Hokm the teams don't call - before the game - how many hands they are going to win. Rather the winning team is whichever
that wins 7 hands first.
- Each time a team wins a 7 hand game, it counts as one set point total point in the winning chart. Whichever team wins 7 sets
first wins the game.
